WEBB WINS AT MUDDY CREEK

Cooper Webb tamed the muddy ruts of Muddy Creek, TN to claim victory in the 250MX class.

Cooper Webb was looking confident all day with blazing fast lap times in practice and qualifying. In Moto 1 Webb was the silent stalker and quietly picked off Davalos for third position, then moved into second as Cianciarulo went down. Webb ran drama-free to the finish to clinch second in the moto. In Moto 2 Webb had a slow start and had many positions to make up. He got straight to work though, and by the final lap Webb was leading the race. His 2-1 Moto finishes placed him on the top step for the overall.

MCREEK-AMART

Alex Martin and Jeremy Martin both had rough starts in Moto 1, and tag-teamed their way through the pack until Alex crashed with two laps to go.  Jeremy kept pressing forward and diced with McElrath for the top five, but had to settle for sixth place at the checkered flag. In Moto 2 Alex Martin charged hard to the front and battled McElrath for the lead, but could never make the pass stick. Alex settled for a third place in Moto 2 and Jeremy in fifth place.

MCREEK-JMART

Alex Martin finished 9th overall and Jeremy fifth overall.

Aaron Plessinger finished 13th for the weekend and Mitchell Harrison finished 18th.

MCREEK-MUSQUIN

Marvin Musquin jumped off the line near the front of the pack in Moto 1, but a mistake caused him to go down in turn one. From dead last, Musquin charged his way back to a 7th place finish in Moto 1. In Moto 2 Musquin made another excellent start stick in second place. Throughout the moto Musquin battled in the top five and claimed fourth at the finish. His 7-4 finishes were good for a fifth overall for the weekend.

ANDERSON CLAIMS SECOND AT HIGH POINT, MUSQUIN 3RD

Jason Anderson came back with a vengeance after his Thunder Valley DNF, qualifying with the fastest time at High Point and claiming second overall for the day. Marvin Musquin also put a good foot forward and rounded out the podium in third.

Jason Anderson kicked off his weekend at High Point with authority, starting off with the quickest lap times in practice and then qualifying first out of the pack. He launched off the gate in Moto 1 and worked his way to third place by the end of lap 1, and quickly passed for second position by lap 2. A small tip over in the race cost him a few positions, but Anderson rallied and fought his way back to a third by the end of the race. In Moto 2 Anderson started off in the top ten and diligently worked his way back to another third place finish, going 3-3 for the day resulting in a second place overall.

HiPnt-Musquin

Marvin Musquin also had a great start, jumping off the gate to fourth place and eventually picking off Anderson and Tomac to run in second. Musquin stalked race leader Roczen, but never quite reeled him in, settling for second place in Moto 1. In Moto 2, Musquin got off to another top-five start as he rounded the opening lap in 4th place once again. Tomac made a pass on Musquin to drop him back to 5th place momentarily but the Frenchman upped the pace on lap six to make a pass on Justin Barcia to reclaim the 4th place position.

The Star Yamaha team experienced mixed luck this weekend, with Cooper Webb landing on the podium, but both Martin brothers loosing valuable points with DNFs.

Cooper Webb ran quiet and steady in both motos, claiming third in Moto 1 and fifth in Moto 2 for a third overall for the weekend.

HiPnt-Amart

Catastrophe struck both Martin brothers, as Alex Martin experienced a mechanical DNF in Moto 1 and a nearly identical ailment struck Jeremy Martin’s ride in Moto 2.

Aaron Plessinger fought his way to a third place finish in moto 2 and a fourth place overall.

HiPnt-Harrison

Mitchell Harrison hovered around the top ten mark and just missed it with a 13th overall on the weekend.

The Martin Brothers Podium in Thunder Valley

The Martin brothers showed up in Thunder Valley, CO carrying the speed and momentum from their previous races to the podium once again.

Moto 1 kicked off with a blazing fast holeshot by Cooper Webb with Jeremy Martin right on his heels. Further back in the pack Alex Martin, Aaron Plessigner, and Jordon Smith were embroiled in a 3 way fight for podium contention. Alex Martin and Plessinger ended up getting tangled and going down, pushing them way back into the field. Plessinger managed to fight his way back to a 14th place finish, and Alex Martin clawed his way from 20th place to a sixth place finish at the checkered flag.

TV-AMARTIN

Meanwhile at the front of the pack, Jeremy Martin stalked Savatgy and capitalized when Savatgy had a crash and fell back. Jeremy shot forward to the front and claimed the Moto 1 victory with Cooper Webb claiming third.

In Moto 2 the Star Racing Yamaha riders suffered a slower start, but came back in speedy fashion. Alex Martin showed blazingly fast speed as he came back from 10th place to third place only 12 minutes into the race. Alex and Jeremy Martin kept charging for race leader Savatgy but never could reel him in close enough to challenge for the lead. Alex Martin finished second in Moto 2 and overall third, swapping with Jeremy Martin finishing third in Moto 2, and second overall for the weekend. Fellow team mates Cooper Webb scored 5th over all, Mitchell Harrison 10th, and Aaron Plessinger 11th.

Bad luck struck Thor riders Jason Anderson and Marvin Musquin in the Thunder Valley 450MX. After a very promising start in second place during Moto 1, Jason Anderson was forced to retire early from the race as he suffered severe effects from altitude sickness.

Marvin Musquin went down hard during Moto 1, forcing him into a DNF as his bike required repairs. Musquin rallied back in Moto 2 however and claimed a 5th place finish, and 14th overall.

Jarryd McNeil Wins 2 Gold Medals At X Games

Thor freestyle rider Jarryd McNeil had an outstanding showing at the 2016 Summer X Games in Austin TX, taking home gold medals in Moto X Step Up and Moto X Best Whip.  It was his debut in the Step Up category and the crowd went wild as he cleared 33 feet onboard his 2-stroke YZ250.  In the Best Whip comp McNeil continued to wow the X Games crowd as he threw some of the biggest whips of the comp, and secured 39% of the peoples vote to claim the Gold medal.
