Taylor Robert Takes Another WORCS Overall Win

Thor’s Taylor Robert claimed his fourth overall win of the season with a 1-2 finish at the seventh round of the World Off Road Championship Series in Central, Utah. Robert now has won eight motos, the most of any rider this season. With his consistent finishes throughout the season, Robert maintained and extended his points lead in the championship standings to 41 with three rounds remaining.

With WORCS racing taking place out west, the off-road riders on the East Coast were gathering for the eighth round of the GNCC series in Snowshoe, W. Va. Thor’s Kailub Russell started the race out front, and eventually finished right behind first to earn the runner-up spot in the XC1 class. With his second-place finish, Russell is now just one point out of first in the points standings. In the women’s class, Maria Forsberg kept her win-streak alive with her eighth victory this season.

Ryan Villopoto 2 Be Continued Movie Available On iTunes

He’s the best rider on earth. He’s the best rider of his generation. He’s won everything there is to win. Yet, Ryan Villopoto is the most private, reserved and soft-spoken individual in the sport. Hailing from the school of walking softly and carrying a big stick, the supremely talented and fiercely determined athlete lets his riding – and winning ways – do the talking.

To that end, Volcom set out to peel back the layers and dig out the soul and charisma of the champion. We traveled the nation over, meeting family, friends, industry members and a hero to discover the real RV. What we found, well, we’ll let the film and Ryan do the talking.

Thor’s Baggett Extends Points Lead with Overall Win at Budds Creek

Thor’s Blake Baggett claimed his second 250 class overall win at the fifth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Series at Budds Creek MX Park in Mechanicsville, Md. Baggett’s 2-1 result helped him earn his first overall victory since the opening round of the series. With the win, he extended his points lead to 13 as the series heads into a two-weekend break.

In the 450 class, Thor’s Broc Tickle put together his best performance in the premier class, earning an impressive second overall. Also putting in a good ride was Jake Weimer, who finished fourth overall. Weimer proved he was a fighter after running a great second moto despite a decent blow to the chest from a rock on the opening lap of the second moto. He still fought back to finish and score a 3-4 moto result. Brett Metcalfe put together a strong sixth-place overall finish with an 8-6 moto result. Ivan Tedesco, in the 250 class, ran a great first moto finishing eighth, but a crash in the second moto ended his day early.

Thor’s Taylor Robert Scores First EnduroCross Podium of the Season

A beautiful day greeted riders at the fourth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Pa. Thor’s Jake Weimer backed-up his 450 class podium result from last week to race to a 3-3 moto result for third overall. Both Brett Metcalfe and Broc Tickle seemed to find each other in both motos, battling for position. Metcalfe ended the day sixth overall with a 7-5 moto score, while Tickle was seventh after a crash in the second moto pushed him back to score 6-9 on the day.

In the 250 class, Baggett started the day with a third place in Moto 1, but two crashes in the second moto pushed him back to finish fourth overall with a 3-5 result. Baggett still leads the championship standings by seven points. Teammate Ivan Tedesco rode solid in the opening moto, finishing seventh, but had to come through the pack in the second moto to score 10th for seventh overall.

Thor’s Blake Baggett Repeats Impressive Hangtown Performance from 2011

Thor’s Jake Weimer didn’t let the elevation of the mile-high city bother him as he rode to a 2-4 moto finish, capturing his first podium finish in the 450 class. With his great ride at the Thunder Valley MX Park in Lakewood, Colo, he jumped from fourth to second in the championship standings.

Also running well was Thor’s Brett Metcalfe, who scored a third-place finish in the first moto behind Weimer, but a bad start in the second moto forced him to put together a come-from-behind finish. He raced from 26th on the opening lap to an impressive 10th-place finish in Moto 2, finishing the day fifth overall. Thor’s Broc Tickle came back from a mechanical in the first moto to score a season-best third-place finish in Moto 2, moving him up to 11th overall despite the DNF in the opening moto.

In the 250 class, riders faced extreme weather conditions prior to the opening moto. After an hour delay, officials started the 250 class moto on a freshly soaked track. Although the conditions were tough, Thor’s Blake Baggett came through the pack to finish just a half-second back of second place at the checkered. With a third-place finish going into the second moto, Baggett took over the lead on Lap 7 and was looking like he had the overall, but changes in position behind him forced him to settle for second overall. With his solid finishing positions, Baggett now leads the 250 class by 16 points. Teammate Ivan Tedesco came back from a tough first moto to finish 14-8 and 11th overall.
